hey all,

just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a destination/route for the next pulsar group cruise.. somewhere with twisty roads is the normal agenda, and usually no more than 1hrs drive from the northside if it's north, or 1hr from the southside if it's south.. sooooo if you've been on any fun drives lately how about you suggest one to us ?

here is my suggestion (that breaks one of the guidelines): murwillinbah/byron bay/somewhere south/havnt really looked but south of the gold coast/etc.

probably too far for just one day tho..

probably do this at the end of april..

Noosa? Coolum? Toowoomba? back o' Ipswich?

somewhere that has lots of corners would be good :)

hmm, ok

does anyone think the back of noosa (so take the highway north to eumundi/there-abouts) is too far? it'll be just less than 1hr on the highway from aspley..

i could easily sus a nice bendy set of roads around that area :)

so prolly meet same place we did last cruise (bp travel centre caboolture), cruise up to eumundi, go back of eumindi thru cooroy/noosa hinterland, come back making sure to visit the hillclimb route of the qld rally championship, then into noosa (for dinner? lunch?) down the coast to maroochydore, and home?

could be a bit far tho.. will be an easy 300k in one day.

other alternative, which is just as far, would be byron bay/murbah.. let me know thoughts there as well.

Hi Guys I'm new to the group and have a few suggestion for ya'll.

1st one is I went on a cruise with some Car Audio Australia folks through the sunshine coast hinterland out to melaney which was full of bendy roads as well as some nice straights...I'll sus out where exactly we went if your interested.

2nd one is down through to byron bay but it is a long cruise and not that much in the way of bends except through the ranges towards the end. If you want to get the full benefit of the ranges you need to go further south as to get to byron you turn off just before the really fun part.

My car is off the road so I won't be meeting any of you till about mid May at this stage. I'll catch you all after this date...

Dude

Sorry to spoil your fun but we recently did the Sunny coast one and a few went on the Byron one, how about an Ipswich cruise to piss off some Bogans.....

C'mon guys suggestions needed, there should be somewhere that only a couple of us have gone and the rest have no idea.

Cheers
Neill

Yeah Neill whatever is going on I'm happy to do.... I just love getting out and driving with some other like minded people. I hang out with a handful of other GTI-R guys but sometimes they can be a bit stuck up over the whole GTI-R's being the "so-called" best of the pulsar's and why should SSS's and Q's hang out with us.... To me that is bullshit and I don't like it... I'm happy to cruise with anyone else that is happy to cruise.... Doesn't matter what car you drive..

If my car is back on the road then I'll be there for sure.. Doesn't matter where you guys want to cruise to.. Ipswich way sounds good to me. Another suggestion would be out towards Beaudesert and Warwick for a day cruise. WarWick may be a bit too far but Beaudesert could be a good place don't know about how windy the roads could be though...

If you like twisty roads, then up over Cunninghams Gap is about as twisty as you can get.

15th April 2002, 12:45 PM
Sounds like a plan. What date is anyone setting... don't ask me as I'm not going to be on the road again till mid may so that is when I'd say to do it but there will be others that I will join in on later in the year.

jnr_zilla.. we went up to maleny, then down thru palmwoods on a recent-ish sunshine coast cruise.. so we're looking at somewhere different this time, altho it may just be a different route around the same area.

cunninghams gap? where is that? how far? :)

also.. any responses to the noosa suggestion?

Hey guys,

I have just moved from Sydney up to Bundaberg so I reckon that you should make the cruise as far North as possible so that I can cruise down that way! I was actually hoping to catch a cruise on my way up here but you guys went on the 16th and I came up here on the 23rd! :(

Hope you make a decision to head up this way!

Noosa sounds okay... but anywhere further is considered to be whoop o_O whoop to me and what sort of cruise... BBQ day cruise? How many cars do we have and what date? if it's a 2 weeks or so before drag combat then I'll probably be in (need sometime to prep my car for show&shine and DB drag)

Lets just set a date and go to Mt Glorious or Noosa. At least if we can come up with a date....say w/end of the 18 - 19th of May, we can talk about destinations over the coming weeks...

dan
24th April 2002, 11:40 AM
alright

the date for the next pga cruise is the 19th of may..

that ~should~ give me enough time to sus out some destinations (last midsemester is 13th may), so now all we need is for people to give feedback as to how far is too far?

or would you prefer it if i just laid down the smack and said "this is where we're going, be there"

Jnr_Zilla
24th April 2002, 01:03 PM
Bring on the smack down Dan.... Fingers crossed my car will be back on the road then.... That's the plan to get it back by the end of that week.....:bounce:

Tell us where, when and what time and I'll try to be there.... Sydney is not too far for me mate so pick the destinations that you want..

lol.. i think sydney is a bit far for some.. (poke niell)

anyway, i might get to sus mt nebo area on sunday so it'll either be there or somewhere up around the noosa hinterland.

smack it is

missed out on the sunday nebo cruise because of the rain.. my tyres are decidely average so i decided not to risk it.

is anyone keen on going for a drive to sus a route this friday? will be during the day sometime, prolly take a few hours.. i dont think i'll bother so much with distances just have a look thru the street directory (is this area on the map anyone know?) and then go out and make sure it's fun..

Dan

Went to Mt glorious on Sunday just gone with about 7 other cars was loads of fun in the rain....bit hairy at times though. The path that we took was follow Samford Rd all the way through to the end and then you get to a T intersection. Left is Mt Nebo and back into the city via waterworks rd. Right is to Mt Glorious and then past Lake Wievenhoe and back in through goodna area and the centenery Hiway... Some long straights and some very windy roads, like fastest through the area was an Integra type R at about 20Km/h. Heaps of fun and about a 3-4 hour round trip even with a stop over up the top of the mountain for some lunch...

If it wasn't raining as much then we would have stopped and got some more photo's but it stopped just long enough to give us about 20 mins to get out and stretch our legs and take some photo's.

The directions are very straight forward so you will have to try hard to get lost.

Rumour has it from a couple of other guys that do the run on bikes is that Saturday is the fast day and Sunday is the slow MX-5's with the tops down cruising at 50k's.... If you catch my drift....

yeah dude, the cruise after next will most likely be in the noosa hinterland.. the one this sunday is brisbane hinterland, come along if you want.. next one appears to be gold coast hinterland..

we've already done one sunshine coast hinterland cruise, was pretty decent :) check the events section of the website for fotots..
