Hi just wondering which ways are there to clean your heads??

I header you can't clean them with a spary which you spray thought the air intake after you have taken off the air pipe to the engine.

Anyone know what the clean liquid is and what it is called and if there are a few which once do people think are the better once???:Poke: :Poke: :Poke:

From what I've heard, the exhaust gas recirculation in the SR is badly placed and leaves a lot of muck on the back of the throttle body. If you take the intake pipe off and spray carb cleaner through then it dislodges the muck which goes into your engine, however the consistency of it is like tar so it does bad things to valves, pistons etc. The only way is to either take the pipe off get some solvent and carefully wipe the back of the TB (with it held wide open of course) and around the inside of the TB - OR to take the intake manifold off and clean it all off the car. The latter's safer and more effective but a lot more time consuming.

When I replace my filter tomorrow I'll take the piping off and have a good look at how much gunk there is.

this may not be relevant but Subaru dealerships sell a Subaru branded upper engine cleaner for any one interested. Ummm as the name suggests it cleans the upper engine.
