He has a chiptorque chip aswell which liberated 4 extra kw @ the wheels to make 90kw...
15.01 pretty good, im hoping that when I do cams and chip on mine I can break that

hmm not bad but Andy did a 15.25 with no extractors, no exhaust except 2.25 muffler joined to std pipe, no chip and no carbon fibre heat shield!!!! and shanie keeps him door to door anytime anywhere standing or rolling!!! so i think that its pretty average in my books sorry mate!.
With my head combo $1000 supply only, 2.25 press bent $200, extended primaries on std headers $120, air pod $60 and CAI $30 ill comfortably punish that time with a mid to high 14sec 1/4
using std ECU too!!!
shan
no offence but an SR20DE pulsar doing low 15's is just too simple to do and cheaper than him as well:thumbsup:

Who's car you ask?? 80UNC will be the one to get it first!
This combo has been already done on nearly 15 pulsars in australia and now our head guy is exporting to the states
these are dyno figures on The Brock Shops dyno here in brisbane
the minimum ran 105 and the best ran 120kw @ the wheels
of course its non turbo geez do you think id be bragging about getting those lame no.s in a turbo SR20???
As for time slips well you'll just have to wait till we get 80UNC's combo done and then go to the track!
You wanna see my panties too?? Dont get your back up just because someone has popped their head up and said they can make power dude its really not that hard to do.

So you are getting these figures mainly from the head work?
An extra like 15-30kw at the wheels from the new head?
The other mods would give you 90kw at the wheels max im assuming.
If the head mods are that good i might get mine done...
Just wanna see some form of proof b4 i lay out cash.
Also is the head 1K outright or change over?
Pete:thwap:
I am also getting my car dyno'd atm.. ill run it at Heathcote Park next month and see what times i get... it ran a 16 flat with the K&N and no other mods so from what you guys are saying it should pull at least a 15.5 or better

Can I ask, How much horsepower the $1000 head is producing on the flow bench? and also will we need to get our inlet manifold need to be machined to have the same size ports and the same for the exhaust? Im very interested but im in melbourne.

Hell no shan!! Kepp the ideas comming! Im very interested in this package shan. How does the car drive (rough idle) after all the head work and will it change the fuel consumption much as 4bits is still a daily driver. Can't wait to c 80UNC with all the mods:rockin: . I'd probablly be looking to take you up on the offer early next year, probably january.

Sorry to be so secretive guys but ive been sworn to secrecy about most of the head mods! As for the manifold ports well most bolt on extractors should be a good size anyway and inlet well it could only do good by match porting it to the head but my figures are all without manifold porting and chips.
The whole combo is Head, Adjustable cam gears and your std cams reground to suit this is what makes all the power figures as its all designed by the one person to work with each other!!
this combo is $1500 theres no rough idle, heaps better response, faster reving, better torque and top end, less doughy point up to 3500rpm like all SR20DE's have etc etc
Fuel consumption is what you make it eg. you know you've got more power and it sounds awesome so you're always givin it a hard time and tryin to race anything that moves so your fuel is chewing alot faster!! just depends how you drive it it would be a little worse on fuel but not dramatically i dont think

1500 im taking u up on that dude.
i will send u an email with what "driftking" quoted me etc etc etc. shortly and yeah..ur package is way more appealing!! he he he
im gonna spend 2g. so extractors and highflow cat with the other 500.
my question is computer. standard??? will it hack it?
chiptorque chip? or go the whole 9 yards with the haltech? if so this will mean 1500 headjob with a 1600 dolla puta. and thats blown the budget into turbo conversion territory. if u know what i mean..
he he
will email u shortly. or talk to u on sat night.
Mr N20
10th October 2002, 07:19 AM
that head package is designed to work with the std ecu dude.
As for haltech well if you went turbo conversion you would want the haltech anyway so in my opinion it would just be an investment for the future...
but yeah it all goes sweetly with the std ecu

Just kind of interesting, whats written in that article that is. It just so happened that I was in at Chiptorque Nerang, talking to the manager there about some mods for my car (namely chip, exhaust, headwork, cams). After receiving a quote I realised that it wasnt worth it and began talking to him about other Pulsars they had worked on in the past. Questioning him about the possibility of get 14s, he said none he had seen where doing 14's, even after headwork, chip and the usual mods.
Just curious, but I would think that if this guy was doing 15.01, he'd not only be knocking on their door the next day braging about his time, but also to thank them for a great job.
Not saying it didn't happen, just like to see his time sheet, and give him a run!!!

I've seen ad's in hot4s / fast fours ages ago from JHH I think they are called, in QLD, and they quote in their ad a 20% increase in output for their replacement heads. They have one to suit SR20. I don't know what it includes (valve, springs etc?) but for $1000 exchange plus shipping it'll be the next mod I do I think. Especially if I get the sort of power they're quoting. I already have 94kW @ wheels (see mod's in sig) so I'd be seriously ecstatic if I got another 10-15kW @ wheels without having to drop in a turbo to get similar total power!!!
Mr N20
11th October 2002, 06:57 AM
My head package is the JHH head but with a little more port work and redesigning (done by them too)
If your interested in the JHH head i would strongly recommend coming to talk to me for this. JHH has an awesome reputation with their head combo's thats why i use them and can offer my package so cheaply!

yeah well drifking..(the orgiginal..not team drifking shite) quoted me like 1300 for a chiptorque chip and 2 adjustable cam gears for like 1300. 85 kw atw. I was like **** that pussy shite. I want more. He said his headwork will cost like 500 for a mild port and polish...so yeahhhh no thanks. So im still keen on shans expensive headjob. thats sweet with the standard computer too. Im happy about that. Yeah i saw the ads for thoose JHH heads as well. soo thats good u use them. Still researching a little but pretty set on what u have to offer. So idealy a chiptorque chip will go good with this little package?? ohh yeah how long will u need the car for etc etc.. is it better to wait till u open ur shop??? cause i know ur busy atm. Im still gathering the money 2gether. but im keen :)

any dyno graphs ? maybe u could hit up JHH for dyno graphs ?
Mr N20
11th October 2002, 06:19 PM
it could take up to a week to do but im pretty sure it would be done in max 3 days dude. Chiptorques chip is up to you i wont express my judgement on them but they are alright for tuning (if your prepared only to go to them for the rest of your life:rolleyes: )
As for dyno graphs no not yet but im not too phased on chasing them as i know what these heads are like but when we do 80UNC i will post the dyno sheets for everyone but that wont be till end of yr or early next yr.

I am curious to know if adding a TRP stroker crank to the combo would make much of a difference ? I know it was designed for a turbo, but turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown !hahaha. Anyways is it possible ?
arj_y2k
11th October 2002, 11:09 PM
Stroker crank would probably work, just have to get different pistons. The stroker crank would be designed to work with forged pistons to create some sort of boost friendly compression ratio (like 8:1 or something). Whether or not you can get pistons to compensate and bring the compression ratio back up is God's guess. You'd have to ring TRP and see if they've done it, if it would work and where to get them from. Doubt if its been done, but judging from how other engines respond to stroking, you might find a suprisingly good result.
Me??? Decided not to waste any more money on N/A (bar exhaust), not when I can get a GTiR and woop all your arses!!! :D :D :D
AJ
PS: Probably not the best idea to tell everyone that you get your heads from JHH Shan. Now everyone will go straight there instead of through you. Too late now!!!
Mr N20
12th October 2002, 06:06 AM
doesnt worry me mate cause my heads work better than the std JHH ones its just we use their heads as our starting blocks for our mods that we do to them.:D so by all means go buy a JHH head for the same money and we'll see which one works better hey:thumbsup:
As for the stroker crank yeah it would work but as andy said you would have to get some forged pistons with higher gudgeon location and high compression which i can get but would cost quite a bit like $1099 for pistons then whatever astronomical price for the crank!!!!

Hey Shan,
Have any of these cars that have had the head job done to them have any figures or times yet? If there in the 14's its a pretty good value for money mod. i'll be keen to here how these heads are going.

Mr N20, not sure if you've mentioned this elsewhere, but do you have a shop somewhere? If so have you posted contact details?
Also, with the exchange head, can fitting be arranged? Cheers.
