I'm up for a new clutch (clutch is fine throw out bearing rooted).

I'm looking at replacing it with a Daiken (standard replacement). Has anyone else fitted one of these. I believe they are used as standard equipment on Nissans.

Don't want to go heavy duty as I'm not making enough extra power to justify it. Have original clutch still in place and is still going strong (beside bearing) after 160klms with plenty of hard 1st to 2nd changes.

hey dude i just got mine replaced with the standard nissan $650 just for the clutch...lucky it was under warranty

anyway yeah the daiken clutches are great..ive only heard good things about them from people who have had them installed.
i know i got quoted 350 for the heavy duty one. and if i were u .. i reckon the price difference wouldn't be much between standard and heavy duty..so get the heavy duty..it will pay off in the long run...and doesn't nesecrilly make the car harder to drive..

I assume $350 was for the clutch kit itself and not fitting (if it inc. fitting where is that shop)? I was quoted $525 fitted for standard (cheapest northside). Just found out first level H.Duty (40% extra clamp) is an additional $120.

tried PBA . . apparently 20% lighter on the peddle and 20% more pressure . .

I agree if you're going to do your clutch do it properly and get a performance based one. That way you can enjoy your car better and it'll last longer too. And its not that much more anyways, make sure you enquire about getting your flywheel lightened.

Its like asking... Well , while you're down there!

Thanks guys. Probably will get the H.duty one. Even though I haven't had any problems with the standard, I'm not sure what future mods I will do that my require the extra strenght of a H.duty clutch.

The flywheel gets machined as part of the replacement process (only lightly), I don't want it lightened too much as I want to keep the torque I do have.
