My 5000 km service has now come due,
instead of getting it done at the mechanics, I was hoping with the help of a mate to do it ourselves this weekend.
I was just wondering exactly whats involved in a 5000 km service??

The 5000km serive is pretty much an oil change only and check of all fluids... simple as that.

Very easy to do as long as you have the right tools, you will know that it has been done properly and it will be alot cheaper and should only take a couple of hours on a weekend afternoon to do!
You will need:
- oil
- oil filter (and remover)
- brake fluid
- coolant (if you need it)
- power steering fluid
Probably won't need much more than that (i have probably forgotten some stuff), but if you have a service manual it is all in there. Happy Servicing

cheers , thanks guys.
I'm no mechanic , but I want to learn how to do a service myself, so there is not better way to learn than to do it yourself..

you might want to take it to the dealer so you dont void your warranty..

yeah I don't get it, has your car done 5000km or is it a 5000km interval since your last service?

Oil and filter
Air Filter
I did this recently and Nissan parts were cheaper than Repco and the other spare parts places.
