BOSCH SUPER SPORTS INDUCTIVE CORE IGNITION LEADS

Model Number: B4617i

Performance stuff is

ore responsiveness

lower emission
fuel efficiency
durability

It has an inductive core etc,

They are aparrently the best to get, i and a few others on here have them and work well...

Cheers

I've got Eagle Eliminator leads. Have also previously had Top Gun Pro Racing Series before as well. Both of these are spiral core. Very little resistance (approx 2000 to 3000 ohms).

The only thing better is wire core leads however they only recommend these for race cars due to possible interference with steros etc.

Fast Fours (I think) did a test of different types of leads and the above was the results.

hey i tried to get some red topgun 8mm leads today but they told me that i can only get 5mm because they plug straight into the dizzy cap, wtf is up with that? any1 running 8mm on their pulsar sr20de?

Did you ask for the pro racing series? I previously had 8.8mm ones on my Lancer GSR. I'm positive these were red.

I currently have 7.5mm Eagles.

Just confirmed with Repco. 8.8mm Top Gun pro racing series (spiral core) in red, blue, black, fluro green or fluro pink $100 plus freight ($10 or $15).

The repco quote was based on N14 SR20DE. When he was looking them up he did ask if it was turboed or not so am unsure if the DET have different leads.

Advantage of having "performance" leads is that you will get a better spark (hence bigger bang, better performance).

It is only the outer casing that is bigger eg 8.8mm has a bigger (or fatter) casing than say 7.5mm. The only advantage of fatter leads is that is more insulation than skinnier ones which helps reduce cross fire between leads (spark can conduct between leads which is why they need to be separated). It is the type of core that is the important part.

Supression core - standard
Spiral core - street performance
Wire core - race leads (have have of some street cars with these).

Okay spoke to my mate at Autobarn and had a look in the catalog the part numbers for the SR20DE Pulsar N15 and for the U13 Bluebird 2.0Litre Turbo are the same Part #'s the are both Distributor side feed leads so they should be no difference.

Since when? They probably won't have them on the self but the can most certainly order them in. If you aren't getting help from one outlet try another. They can get them.

just thought i would see if anyone has used champs before

I personally would steer clear of Champions as I'm sure they're supression core leads (higher resistance - bad).

For better performance you want spiral core leads (much lower resistance - good), such as Top Gun Pro Racing or Eagle Eliminators (cheaper than Top Guns).

Im looking at buying some Eagle eliminator series leads and was just wondering what thickness they are? The ones ive been quoted over here in New Zealand are 7mm. Are they the same over in Aus?
Cheers

Yeah 7mm here. But don't fret, 7mm Eagles are just as good (or better some say) than 8.8mm (or bigger) Top Guns. 7mm or 8.8mm only relates to the size of the outer "housing" (insulation) of the lead. It has nothing to do with the wire core size. The core size will be the same whether you have 7mm or 10mm leads. I found 7mm are also easier to keep in place as they're not as fat (meaning thickness of the insulation).

Personally I get these if you can.

tephra, go to auto1, they have them.
all castrol magnatec does is pick up little bits of metal and drag them around your engine.
now i dont know if it's actually magnetic, but cast iron, and aluminuim aren't magnetic anyways.
well, i'm pretty sure cast iron isn't....
