im sure this has been brought up before, but i want to know if it worth while to turbo an sr20de,
my reason for asking is i have the oppertunity to but a det manifold, t28 turbo, oil lines and injectors of a mate with a 180sx,plus i still have the intercooler off my old mx6,

i can do all the fitting and plumbing, i was going to have a look at a uni chip or somthing for the computer side of things,
btw, i am only planing on running low boost ( 5 or 6 psi)

i know you are going to say its not worth going to all that trouble for that much boost, but im not planing on having a rocket, i just want a bit more torque ( my mx6 was a torque monster... i miss that bit :bawlink: )

thanx guys......

y wait,

I guess at the end of day its cheap bolt on HP! I've thinking long and hard about this too!

It depends on your car and circumstances, I personally would like to do it but I've changed my mind since with 204 000 kms on the odometer I'd be looking for trouble given my driving habbits although the current motor is in good form and regularly serviced!

It was going to cost me $2000 drive in , drive out to get a t28 fitted to my current motor but then again In my situation and kms I'd be better picking up a U12 front cut and throwing that it like James did. That way I get a newer motor I guess! That said if wanna do it go for it!

I read here somewhere the other day about an N15 with bolt on t28 anf front mount made 130KW at the wheels! so the balls in your court.

cheers,
Lance

you cant quote others experiences as everyones going to be different in some way! i think from memory the RWD SR20DET's manifold will be to long and you'll have trouble fitting behind radiator dude, also you'll spit head gaskets all the time, cook the engine very easy due to no oil squirters and when (not if) you crank the boost up you'll detonate sooo easy and pop goes the weazel!!:D
