Just done a search and I'm surprised this hasn't been posted.. If you are a bit of a scrooge and like to fill at the cheapest possible petrol station, use this

U lose the extra .001 cent u gain from driving the extra 20 mins to get the cheap petrol.

The difference between average and cheapest in my area is 6 cents/L.

For a fillup, that equates to about $2.40

I'd rather just pay $2.40 every week and a half, to not have to worry about being tight and finding the cheapest fuel.
If I drove a guzzler with a 100L tank, would be a different story.

I usually just wait til the day of the week when petrol is cheapest, then go fill up at any Shell with Optimax.
