Courier Companies

Hi all,

Just thought as a matter of importance with the buying or selling of car parts that you should all be aware that TasFrieght charge almost 3 times the price of Fastway for larger parcels sent interstate... I have just got off the phone after a very unpleasant discussion with TasFreight and I am 100% positive I shall never use their services again!

It's a long story but it basically involves me having a package stalled at Brisbane indefinitely until I pay them $110 (DOUBLE what I originally paid!).

I'm not slandering the company but please keep these things in mind when buying/selling goods and remember to always shop around... Unfortunately, we live in a small state and some services are just not up to scratch with the other states...

Feel free to add any experiences you may have had with other companies and perhaps we can even set up a sticky thread with recommended ones...

Tas Freight is partly owned ny that so called nice guy Mr Chas Kelly. It is just like his other business. Just pure greed! If they would provide the highest level of service then maybe they could charge more.:devil: :lol:

dave, i have e-mailed the dept of fair trading and tasfreights head office.. they might pass it and let fastways pick it up from brisbane :)

Just before I left tassie about 13yrs ago he brought a new Farrari to race in Targa and 2 days into race wrapped it around a tree :lol:

He is actually quite a powerful business man now. He was just part of a consortium off business people who have taken over Patricks shipping here in tassie. It cost $70million and include 2 ships, about 60 trucks and 300 staff.

I used to admire him because he started with nothing but I have since learnt that he just use everyone and everything around him to gain more wealth without stopping to consider the affect that may have!.

the ferrari wasnt his but he did crash it :P poor F40 the best ferrari ever made it got fixed tho haha

and thanks to a local fastway courier driver, my wing is comming up here freight free !


if it was picked up today the courier driver in rockhampton here said that he will give me a ring on sunday arvo when he loads up for monday morning :D

at the latest it should be picked up monday and be here on the tuesday :rockin:

Yeah certainly learned a lesson... The sad part was I was meant to go with fastway to start with but there was a mix up with addresses... Glad to hear it's sorted Nath - Let me know when she turns up :D
