For those of you who haven't already heard, we are finally catching up to the mainland - check out the above link for details...

The primary new features for Tasmanian personalised plates are as follows:

- No ongoing fees for keeping plates
- Free choice of colour and content (1-6 characters, any colour)
- AFL supporter plates and Euro-style plates now available
- Slimline plates are now available for front AND rear of the vehicle

Unfortunately, with prices ranging from $295 (3 digits, 3 numbers) to $1100 ("Colours of Tasmania" range) I think the sales on these new plates might be a little slow...

yeh i went along to the market research theres more plates to come as well, personalised picture plates would be kewl. im gunna buy mine outright when i get the option :) colour choices arent as good as the victorians tho we only have limited choice on colours. prices are well placed in reality considering the leasing program is $100 a year for a full personalised plate and that is completely separate to ur rego it comes at a different time as well I was hopin for it to be in my rego but it aint the bastards

hmm would be good to see how many people actually are willing down here to pay over 1k for plates!

i might think about the 3letters and numbers range when i a finished payin some bills off and have the car running again.
