hey Beef, voice coil bit i can't help u with cause even i not too sure but i think dual voice coil subs can handle more power...i think
anyway as for the MTX subs i have a single 12" MTX Thunder 8000 the one above the 6000 and it handles 400WRMS where i think the 12" 6000 only handle like 250 or sumthin like that. neway i love my sub....it hammers the shit outta most things. only thing to b wary of tho is that u buy an amp powerful enuff to hammer it cause otherwise it will sound shit. cause it american they always like their power :D
i have an amp rated at 400WRMS into 1 channel just for my sub (it acctually a bit more then that) and that hammers it...i have had it for like 1 yr now and it has taken everything i have thrown at it and still wants more....so as for the MTX subs thumbs up....
but if u got the cash buy a 12" kicker solarbaric L5....they hammer the pants off the 6000's hands down

We are running 2 Thunder 6000 15's dual voice coil
in the pulsar and what it means is you can set them to be either 2ohm or 8ohm depending on what your amp suits better!
for example if you have a 2 x 100 rms @ 4ohms amp that is 2ohm stable this means you would set the coils in parralel to give a 2ohm load and put 1 sub in each channel giving 2 x 200rms power output but make sure you know what your amp can handle first before buying DVC subs incase you need a 4ohm load
i hope this helps

Yeah, DVC and SVC just give you more wiring options. No difference in sound or anything, and in extreme cases for SPL comps, it allows you to wire up 1+ amps per coil :D
