well theres heaps a stuff to look at and stuff and theres a few night clubs around to Lake st clair, cradle mountain, hastings caves, port arthur, penny royal, the Air walk & mt wellington to name a few scenes for ya if ur here for a holiday they would be some good places to check out

The weather is usually starting to get nice in mid October, so you've chosen a good time to visit.

The East Coast is well worth a look - really nice beaches and the best weather in the State (Shred braces for incoming flames). Lots of nice waterfalls around the place (Russell Falls near Hobart - nice drive there from Hobart through all the Hops fields too). Dip Falls up the North West - many others, but those two spring to mind straight away. Lots of quaint little historic towns - Richmond and Ross are two good ones not too far off the main highway if you're into that sort of thing.

When you're planning your trip, don't expect to be able to get around the state as quickly as the distances on maps would suggest. The roads here - especially on the West Coast tend to go up/down/left/right a lot. Driving a couple of hundred Kms from (say) Hobart to Queenstown can take many more hours than you'd expect.
