Good to see you all again, ive missed a couple of recent ones :)
The police attitude really did leave alot to be desired, I'm their biggest fan but they certainly weren't helping themselves last night. Good luck to those of you who have to visit the pits, I don't think you'll have many dramas getting cleared.

I'd have to agree there man - generally unless you do something stupid the police will give you a fair go, and treat you with some form of respect. Unfortunately the acting sargeant last night just seemed to have a bit of an ego problem. It's cops like these who give all cops a bad name unfortunately.
Oh well, yellow removal time. Love to see what the pits say.

what was wrong with rosco head lights.....
UNEEQ
7th July 2007, 06:31 PM
I think that was Jame's & Jocelyn's headlights, not Rosco's... But at the end of the night, a yellow + over pits = exerything squeeky clean.
Sorry about everyone who ended up with a defect. I was actually surprised they didn't do more cars than they did. As James said on the night, it's their discression, and they don't need a real reason, they just need to request you have the car inspected at the pits and they can slap a yellow on it.
I'd be interested to know if Dusan's brother managed to get away without a defect also.

Yeh we are wary of this, hence why we only ever give maps out on the night now, never posting them up.
Joondalup shopping centre is a huge place, nothing sinister about it, just in the wrong place at the wrong time unfortunately. As Matt said, they would have originally pulled up to get food at macca's, we were just an easy target...
Another good quote.
Me - "So what are you doing mate?"
Him - "Just havin' some fun..."
Lovely...
I think car cruises just have a bad name in general, I'd like to think PPGA are very well behaved compared to other cruises... they've picked on the wrong crowd on this one.

8th July 2007, 03:15 PM
hmm yeah was quite interesting, you can tell the look in their eyes the minute they got out of the booze bus, that they were just trying to please their own agenda. I just avoid cops full stop now like most people here would, when their pissed off they'll yellow you for anything. How lucky was I my car never got looked at once! bahahaha
Highlight of the night: Altari's mrs Candy saying "JOSH OMG THEIR GOING TO STICKER YOUR CAR" me:"Why Candy????" Candy:"FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!!"
lol :) once again sorry to the people who got stickered and thanks for making my mate nathan welcome, hes a new n14 ti owner so yeah he thought you were all quite welcoming :D

in general:
100mm road clearance to everything
no oil leaks
no exposed pod (if possible)
no atmo bov (if possible)
check all indicators, lights etc
quieten exhaust (supposed to be under 92dB)

yes, BOV and pod can get through, does make things easier if you swap over stock airbox though.
as for not issuing a yellow in a carpark, if its connected to the public roads, and open and used by the public then its classed the same as the roads

Even if they didn't have any power, what's to stop them waiting at the exit to the car park until people are on public roads?
As soon as we wanted to leave we'd have been just as screwed, unless we all jumped into my nice new car and James' Astra!!! And left the other cars there the night (yer RIGHT, like that's gonna happen)

too true, my dad is a police officer and is constantly warning me that the forums of ALL car clubs are moniterd and they target them in the aim to prevent people showing off and "hooning" Its just a pitty the PPGA got targeted this time, as everytime ive attended a cruise most people have been well behaved.

I think you guys are forgetting this was a booze bus, they didn't know we were going to be there and they didn't come just to get us. The coppers were on a break after being on Hodges drive for the last 3 hours and went to McDonald's for food. I think the best lesson learnt is not to park near fast food outlets
We've never had police deliberately come and give us hassle at one of our meet spots yet. I believe this is because we never draw attention or cause any trouble, which is why we frown upon any dodgy shit like burnouts ( :gay: ) on any of our cruises. The only times it ever occurs is when somoene brings their dodgy mates in their full sik RWD cars. If we had people in Pulsars continually doing burnouts at our meet points they would be told to go home.

Yer the exhaust was standard, but mufflers were pretty hollow.
Even then, I don't think it was anywhere near the 90+db.
Either way, I wanted to get her as quiet as possible anyway, and this makes it much better. Really sounds nice and quiet. I'm going to show off the lack of sound at the next cruise
Girlfriend enjoys the silence too.

Rosco have you done the engine swap form yet?
Just go to your local DPI and ask for a change of engine number form. They don't even ask if it's turbo or not :p

very effective (at sound and power strangulation)
xforce offer a whole muffler with one built in called "varex", probably cheaper...

Rosco, if you get the apexi ECV, you don't need to get an electronic one. You can get a manual one, costs about $400 total I think!
