hey guys,

a few of you might know that atm my car is off the road for a week or so...maybe longer.

for those who drive n14's and have a squeaky clutch pedal, i advise you all to have it checked out by your mechanics!!!

as mine was squeaking and it had snapped the bracket hold it to the firewall and has done over $900 worth of damage.:yikes:

hopefully the car will be done by friday this week and i will have her back for the cruise next weekend :(

They took the dash out? that's just crazy, unless the problem is different/worse than you've explained that was TOTALLY un-necessary for them to do that.

300 bucks to weld what bracket? have you SEEN the work they've done? any way you can post pics of what was broken and what was fixed? i'd be seriously questioning their work if it was just a broken clutch pedal mount.

Maybe he is just happy to have his car fixed. I'd be asking a few questions as to whether or not the replacement of the flux capacitor is included in that price.

yea there work is good. i am getting a second opinion on monday! but taking the dash out will mean that its alot safer to weld under there as down here in tassie the poeple aren't as good as on the mainland!

The thing i don't understand is why do they need to weld anything in the car, has the firewall cracked? That's the ONLY reason i can think for them to need to take the dash out? Unless as i said that the problem is worse/different from the initial summary in the other thread.

EDIT: i just checked the other thread and can see now why they've had to remove the dash as i thought the problem was on the clutch pedal itself where it bolts through the firewall, not the actual bit that holds it to the firewall.

shame about the amount of time the mechanic has had to spend, certainly does look like a prick of a job.
