View Full Version : Dyno Day - Saturday November 17th
MrOrange
26th August 2007, 07:06 PM
Hi Guys,
Jocelyn has organised a Dyno day for us out at XSpeed in O'Connor.
This is a 4WD Dyno Dynamics roller dyno, so there's no prejudice to our GTiR owners :)
The dyno day will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 17th November so places are limited, we can only accept a maximum of 20 cars.
The costs are;
$45 - 2WD
$85 - 4WD
NOTE: When paying, please use your forum name as the description so that I can track your payment
If you've never had a dyno run before I highly recommend it as a bit of a baseline. You'll also be able to see some valuable information regarding your AFR which may highlight a problem you didn't know you had (especially for you turbo boys).
Because places are limited to 20 cars you will need to pay for your spot in full to secure your spot. Please PM me for payment instructions and whether you want a 2WD or 4WD run. If we cannot make the numbers with PPGA we will be inviting other external cars to attend.
First in first served everyone! Any questions, feel free to ask.

Mate we can't win lol. Amongst other reasons, it gives people time to recover from dwellingup, do some extra mods to their car if they want, save up the money for the dyno run (alot of students around here) etc etc.
If you pencil in the dyno day for 17th of Nov you'll then know to decline any other appointments that arise between now and then.
Of course it's up to you, you're welcome to confirm anytime between now and then, so long as we don't reach our pre-paid maximum amount of cars. I'll update the thread as each person pays so if it's getting down to the wire you'll know when to jump on board.

We haven't said it's 'pulsars' only. Pulsar members only at this stage.
I think it's obvious we would want majority of pulsars. If you own a pulsar/nx/exa I would expect it to go on the dyno instead of any other cars you own. If you don't own a pulsar, but still a member then I cant see a problem putting your car on (Oz, Sean).
TBH we haven't specifically discussed this though, but I think by applying common sense you would arrive at the same conclusion I have.
Cheers,

though not sure at this stage.. seems you have to do a bit of screwing around disconnecting sensors etc in order to dyno an auto correctly

just out of interest if i were to bring my pulsar down what is the chances of getting a tune at the same time cause mine is running rich as at the moment and i want to get it tuned before doing any major engine work. also by then stereo and rims will be in i'll post pics of stereo in the car audio section by the end of the week its going in in the next two days.

No tuning is done on the dyno day. Only power runs.
You'll get an AFR printout which is all you can really get from a dyno on a standard computer anyway.

Tune it now for current setup but as soon as you change something it will need to be retuned... LOL

Generally the dyno operator will determine what order the cars run. They may like to do 4wd first for example as it will require changes to the dyno.
That's about it though, other than that you just go with the flow :) Everyone will get a turn.

It is not affordable for X-speed to open if there is not 20 cars!! I even tried to change venues but no luck!!

why have ppga events running at all then?
6 cars to cruise, less than 12 to a dyno day.
It would have just been a good day to have any pulsars turn up to chat with and compare, and a bit of variety adds some spice.
I helped run the PPCC/PGA dyno day last time and it went really well.

Well, in the past people were willing to put the effort in because they were encouraged by the turnout of people willing to attend.
Dwellingup numbers were down, cruise numbers are down, dyno day too many empty promises.
PPGA has changed, a different group of users that aren't as social as this great group once was.
Thanks to Jocelyn for organising, your efforts are much appreciated here. I will be contacting all those who paid me for refunds.
