Guys few questions:

Best way to set gains ? And i have just installed a 4 channel amp and was wondering:
I have got the front splits on hi-pass what sort of frequency should i set the crossover. Same thing with the sub on low-pass what setting should this be set too.

cheers

it depends on the setup

no point low passing your sub channel if it's already connected to the sub channel on ya headunit... unless u realllly wanna get a freq not offered by your headunit...

and ya splits... depends on the crossovers that come with the splits.. do they just split the high signal to the tweeters or are they full crossovers which cut out all the really low end to ya mids too....

then there's the thing called "personal preference" :D

dude personally i would run the splits off the amp not on low or high pass on your mid setting (differs for all amps eg. flat on a clarion amp) and turn the gain up a lil bit

for the sub crank it on low pass and depending on your amps power and capabilities turn the gain up but i would not go past two thirds of the way it just depends on how much bass you want rattling your brain.

anyway depending on what music and how you listen to it depends on the settings so set it up how you like it and not somebody elses preference.

Cheer

Can you get hold of an Oscilloscope? That's the best way to set gains... If not, here's what to do...

Turn head unit all way down. Turn gain all way down. Now turn head unit volume up to around 75%. Now turn gains up untill u hear distortion. Then back it down slightly. Easy done :)

With the crossovers, high pass the front at around 80hz, depends on how good your splits are down low and how much power u'r gicing them though, I have mine at 70hz...

With sub, same as above really...
