the Mtx subs are very good (i have only herd a thunder 8000 12') but they like any high end sub need a lot of power! the best way to put em' in your boot would be to take the spare wheel out and thenbuild an enclosurein the boot floor, or just chuck it in a nice cubic foot box thats sealed well and then face it towards the back of the car!!

i just found that a big wooden box in my boot was just too heavy, i was just wondering if there was some way of keeping the spare tyre in the boot and having the subs in another sort of enclosure that doesnt weigh so much and doesnt take up too much space??

mtx thunder 6000 is says on the box 2 x 12 ". the reason why i ask if any good is all you hear when they are on is vibrating, its really annoying.

yeah my mates have made wird vibrating nioses ever since he has had it... they are not really a quality bass sub theyre more SPL designed (so ive heard) and they are very loud the vibrating may also be the number plate and all the pannels in your car coz they all rattle unless youve had major sound deadening done

yeah, i thought that might of been the case with the thin panels, but i mean there are so many small hatchs getting around and im sure they dont all have sound deadening and they dont vibrate, they just annoy me soo much now that they are sitting in the garage. the bass sounds good inside the car, but the vibrating sux:confused:

MTX subs are not just designed for SPL the sound quality of them is very good if they are set up right, As for the enclosure we have 2 thunder 6000 dvc 15's fibreglassed into the floor facing up with a 1000D amp on them but running 4ohm unless at comps and it sounds great yes we did have some vibrations but what do you expect for 150.7db. We have no sound deadening but we do need to put some in the roof cause its cracked the welds on the bracing to the roof skin.
MTX ROCKS MY WORLD!!!!!!!!!
if you need some help setting up or designing it just let me know cause MTX is our specialty

That will explain the weird vibrating sound I am getting from the back roof after installing the stezza, It sometimes makes a buzzing/vibrating noise, specially at idle.
Thanks 80UNC

yer i got a MTX thunder 8000 12" in a cubic foot sealed box. hammers hard but box not sealed propperly and when u listen to the sub it sounds shit, but when the boot is down and ur in the car u don't hear it and it hammers. tried everything to fix the box but nothing works (glassed, silicone, everything) so i have resorted to getting a new box.
it is designed by a guy from MTX for inbetween (so good for quality and SPL) but the box is a monster 2.7 cubic foot. with 2 ports....getting made up this week (hopefully) so i will let yas know how it goes....
MTX is good gear....i hammer mine hard and it just takes it. i know another guy who has same sub as me and he hammers his harder and all he done to it is melt the solder holding the wire to the cone...twice :D

What the? are u sure? is this possible? the current running down speaker cables is AC and shouldnt get hot enough to melt solder! unless his voice coils were getting so hot that the heat transferred to his speaker cable, in that case, it aint good!

yer, i was at the place where i bought all my gear from (i now the manager and the installer up there well) and i was out the back chattin to the installer and this sub got bought in so we ripped it outta the box and he sed "not again, second time i had to fix the sub like this" and the cable was melted off the cone. i know that the guy has a slightly smaller amp running his sub which would b y the voice coil would be getting hot if he cranks it hard for 2 long. i neva had this problem, the only problem i have had is that the actual cone itself rattles. i think it is a design flaw cause i heard a couple of these subs all in different boxes and the cone rattles when cranking hard...but u don't hear it unless u are standing infront of the sub.
but the best thing bout MTX in just bout every range they make the voice coil a little longer then the suspention round the edge so even when u hammer it hard it doesn't hit the end of the voice coil...my sub does this....so does my mates old old series 6" subs...yes..6" MTX subs...they are bloody bassy for 6" subs
