Guys

As most of you know I have limited knowledge of how to use IT, as such I want to add a picture under my name.

I found where to do it but it says the size is too big (something about 100 x 100 pixels)

I have reduced the size of the picture converted to both jpg and bitmap and it still won't work aaahhhhhh:rolleyes:

Any help would be great

Cheers
Neill

Bitmap images are made up of tiny squares called pixels. You need to change the image dimensions to be equal to or smaller than 100 pixels high and 100 pixels wide.

If you cant thats ok, just email me the pic and I'll fix it. :)

Now if someone could tell me how to insert a picture into a message I'd be much apprieciative...
One would imagine that clicking on 'IMG' where it says 'Insert an image into your message" would be the first step to take, but then it starts asking me to 'enter the text to be formatted' and I'm pretty much stumpted by that remark.

Next big leap... make it animated...
Not sure if the server will accept this one, cause it's funny about sizes and frame-rates but its worth a try hey

Specs

As long as your picture falls within the correct width/height and filesize there is no reason why it shouldn't accept an animated gif.

We have configured the size so that even our bandwidth concious people or the people that are suppresed by the telstra scumbags will be ok.

Jeremy

how bout telling me how to insert a picture into a message?

And um.. I've had no less that five animated gifs that the server wouldn't accept, and they were all within the specified pixel and file size restrictions.
They uploaded ok but then I found the forum was still displaying the previous avator even after several minutes. :bawlink:
So then I'd re-edit the file and change the number of frames or frame rate and upload it, and it'd display immediately.

Very odd I know.... maybe it was just having a bad day.
Anyway so the first animation I made for Neil wouldn't display when I loaded it into my specs to test, but the second one was fine. Now if neil would just come back on line he could upload it....
