What's Up with the cargo/boot floor on the N15?

I was vacuuming yesterday and I lifted out the black carpet and noticed that Nissan seem to have used the hardboard cargo floor out of the Micra instead of making a new mould for the N15 Pulsar. It's cut to shape, i.e. it looks like its meant to fit snugly... *somewhere* .

It just covers the spare. It moves freely in 3 directions and scuffs the tyre. To the right of it there's a moulded foam toolkit thing that slides around as well.

Having said that, it all seems to do the job, like I've never noticed a problem when the carpet is over it but I'd still like to make a floor that actually fits properly, carpet it, and also glue the toolkit down.... Or I am showing signs of obsessive compulsive disorder again? :bawlink:

Same issue here, I stuck down the little toolkit thing with industria double sided tape, doesn't move anymore, as for the board well I don't know.

My old corolla was better it has a srew on fitting that held it down, may investigate something similar.

Cheers

I think i'll be making a new floor for my boot too when I get any kind of sub box happening in there..

Thinking of making a part across behind the rear seats fixed solid for the sub box to bolt onto (I want to have a removable box) and have the rest hinged for access to the spare tyre etc.
