just wondering who is going??? who is putting their car in it???? i will be there for a good look on one of the two days, not sure which one yet cos it depends when im working.

Im doing a school project on the event so i'll be going into depth :D

I know a few people who are putting their cars in. So yeah I hope to see you there man :p

I set myself a goal when I was there last year, I will have my car there in 2003. At this stage its not looking too likely.:bawlink:

for others who dont know its a red EG civic with alpine sound system and 18's.

HAH yeah quoc with the civic has been defected twice now, his defected at the moment as well but doesnt want to go to the hassle of putting everything back to stock (ie get me do the work). were trailering his car to the autosalon now.

Anthony who heads up the mitsubishi EVO club is trying to get a group discount for entry into the AAS.

If you are interested, let me know and I will get him to get in touch with you...

I doubt I will have my car there, but on a little side note.. what about meeting up for a mini cruise to travel into AAS. Then we can try and park in the same spot in the parklands. Give the theives a choice of cars to break into.

I went yesterday, I thought it was fantastic, heaps more cars than last year, and a lot of good cars from interstate. Well worth going to have a look in my oppinion.

In 2000 I vowed not to go in 2001 because it was shit house.
2001 i ended up going and regretted not sticking to my 2000 vow.

this year I stuck to my 2000 vow and boycotted the event! :)

Bet I didnt miss too much this year either - apart from riced up crap with big body kits, air brushed graphics and chequer plate galore between the minority of cars I would be interested in looking at.

Autosalon has never been good in Adelaide, although the event is quite good on the eastern states. I wonder if any quality cars came from interstate this year?

can any reputable veteran of the modified car scene care to comment? :silly:

yeah have to agree with u drew. I walked out last year and thought what a waste of $30 (2 people) its the same shit every year id rather just pic up a copy of hot4s in 3 mts time

i expected a few more cars to be out sat nite around town though.

a couple of my mates just dropped into my place and their words regarding the auto salon was - what a waste of money!!
only a couple of interstate cars made the trip and the rest were just street cars.

I dont hae a problem with street cars, there are plenty of shows i would go to to view these car, ie showdown shoot out or small car sunday which are great shows. But auto salon is a different type of car show that does not live up to its reputation in adelaide

overall i was abit disapointed. i usually go the melb auto salon so maybe may standards where a bit higher than most. unfortunatly couldn't make it the melb one this year so had to settle for adel one instead.

Hmmm I for one liked it as it was different to just the usual amount ov OVERWHELMING riced up cars. I rather enjoyed that there was many street cars, which didnt seem to far out of my reach. By this I mean, I probably will never have 200k + car for a 300zx such as 'YUM E'.
There was just enough show there not to make me pissed off and say every 5 seconds "That is way too over the top."
In my opinion it was a 'well rounded' event with the only thing holding it back being the fact that it is smaller than the eastern rest of the states.
One major improvement I believe should occur is discount for going both days, I payed $30 bloody bucks!

i dont have any opinion on the autosalon.. once as your into the car scene the majority of these cars are quite common.. i do however think some of the cars that entered are just a joke,, a few that spring to mind is that bascially stock baleno with the glitter job (how many times did he open his bonnet over the weekend?).

i think were so accustomed to those kind of cars that they just dont cut it anymore... i was surprised that mels car wasnt in it, cos it would generate a lot of interest and it isnt even rice..
